At the age of Eighteen, Guru ji along with Bhai Mardana Ji (a companion), was handed over a sum of (Twenty) 20 rupees by his father to visit the City Market and do a profitable bargain. Instead, he bought food with that money and fed a large group of saints with unwavering love and generosity who had been hungry for days. That is when Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji said:

What better use could money be put to, than feeding the hungry
and termed it as:
‘True and better bargain’ (Sacha Sauda).
